This post documents the initial purchase and unboxing of a printed sweatshirts bundle bought as part of my vintage clothing resale business.
The aim here is to record what was purchased, what arrived, and what I was paying attention to at the start — not to draw conclusions about results or profitability yet.
The Purchase
For this batch, I bought 50 printed sweatshirts.
The order was placed on 26 February 2025 as a pre-order, with delivery expected between 1–15 May. This purchase was made alongside several other bundles as part of a broader sourcing run across multiple vintage clothing categories.
The final cost for this bundle was £50 delivered, giving a unit cost of £1 per item.
A second bundle of 50 printed sweatshirts was also ordered on 1 March 2025, under similar terms, as part of the same sourcing approach.
Unboxing & First Impressions
The first delivery arrived on 23 April 2025, and the video above shows the unboxing in full.
At this stage, I was mainly focused on:
- overall condition across the bundle
- consistency between items
- variation in graphics and styles
- how much preparation would be needed before listing
This unboxing was about assessing usability rather than forming any conclusions.
What I Was Watching
Before buying, I looked at sold listings on eBay and saw printed sweatshirts selling across a range of prices, typically between £10 and £30, with many clustering around the mid-range.
I was also conscious that supply could fluctuate if similar bundles entered the market at the same time. That made pricing and sell-through something to monitor rather than assume.
The initial approach was to:
- list items individually
- price based on condition and current market activity
- remain flexible rather than commit to fixed pricing too early
Any decisions beyond that would depend on what happened after listing.
Next Steps
At the time of writing, the sweatshirts were being washed and prepared for listing.
Any meaningful updates — including sales performance, pricing changes, or decisions about whether this category is worth repeating — will be documented in separate posts rather than added here.
Closing
This post records the starting point for this printed sweatshirts batch.
What happens next will determine whether this category and sourcing approach make sense to continue.
