Experience

Online work history and operated projects

I’ve worked online for over fifteen years, building, operating, and monetising small digital businesses across e-commerce, digital products, and content publishing.

My work has included launching new projects, scaling viable ones, and deliberately exiting or closing those that no longer made sense economically or structurally.

This page is a factual record of that work.

Early eBay Experience (2005–2008)

I began selling on eBay in 2005, initially focusing on collectables — particularly prints, posters, and postcards. This period established a long-term understanding of marketplace dynamics, pricing, demand, inventory handling, listing optimisation, and buyer behaviour.

That foundation continues to inform how I operate resale businesses today.

Transition to Online Work (2009–2012)

In 2009 I began working online full-time.

During this period I:

  • built and ran early content websites
  • created my first digital products
  • learned the mechanics of web publishing, hosting, and delivery
  • developed practical skills in web design, SEO, and online sales systems

In 2012 I co-created Weekend Golfers, an online golf academy built with a PGA Professional. The project involved producing and delivering video coaching courses via WordPress and mobile platforms. I was responsible for the technical delivery, website infrastructure, and ongoing operations.

Digital Products & Membership Platforms (2013–2018)

In 2013 I created and operated Easy Auction Income, a digital education business focused on selling printed and digital media on eBay.

Over several years I:

  • built and managed a membership platform
  • created more than a dozen video-based courses
  • ran affiliate programs
  • managed large email lists and newsletters
  • handled payment processing, delivery systems, and customer support

I also collaborated with partners to produce additional specialised products, including Profit From Posters & Easy illustrated eBooks and several other eBay-focused courses.

In 2018 I sold Easy Auction Income and remained involved behind the scenes providing technical support during the transition.

Experiments, Exits, and Platform Risk (2019–2023)

From 2019 onward I explored several different business models and projects.

These included:

  • Fore King Golf (2019–2022): a local amateur golf tour business, closed following prolonged disruption during Covid
  • Content websites monetised through display advertising (2021–2023), which were exited after platform changes materially reduced their viability

This period reinforced the risks of platform dependency and shaped how I now think about sustainability, optionality, and exit planning.

Several projects during this time were closed or exited deliberately once their economics or risk profile no longer justified continued effort.

Return to Operating Assets (2024–Present)

In 2024 I returned focus to operating tangible resale businesses.

Currently, I:

  • run multiple resale stores across different niches
  • sell vintage clothing, golf clothing, and collectables
  • source from car boot sales, charity shops, wholesale suppliers, and online marketplaces
  • make structural adjustments based on time, complexity, and performance

Rather than building platforms or teaching systems, I now focus on operating assets, improving structure, and reducing unnecessary complexity.

What I No Longer Do

Over time, I’ve deliberately stepped away from client web design work, SEO-driven publishing built purely for traffic, ad-dependent content models, and large membership businesses that require constant promotion and ongoing maintenance.

Those experiences remain valuable, but they no longer align with how I choose to work.

Current Focus

My current work centres on:

  • operating resale businesses
  • making structural and operational choices under real constraints
  • documenting that thinking publicly where useful
  • maintaining optionality for future exits

This site exists as a record of that work.

This page reflects the core of how I’ve worked online: building, operating, exiting, and adapting as conditions change.
